The Honourable Vesey Dawson, 2nd Earl of Dartrey, known as Viscount Cremorne from 1866 to 1897, was an Irish Liberal politician, representing Monaghan from 1865.
He went to Eton before being commissioned into the who joined the Coldstream Guards, rising to the rank of Lt Colonel.
He was first initiated under the Irish Constitution into Lodge No 12, before joining the Lodge of Friendship No 6, which lodge elected him Worshipful Master in 1882. He served that office for two years as was its custom at that time. He was exalted into No 6 Chapter.
He served as Grand Steward in 1872, and was made Grand Senior Warden in 1884. He was a Life Governor of the RMIB.
